Art Encounter
Art Encounter is a nonprofit organization in Evanston “dedicated to educating, empowering, and connecting people of all ages and backgrounds through interactive encounters with visual art.” I’ve been pleased to be a part of their Night Visions program, and I recommend their tours and other events.
artruck
Julie Cowan came up with the idea for artruck in 2011 as a way to show her own and others’ art. Several times a year she holds events that are free to both artists and art lovers—in moving trucks parked in front of her home or in other spaces in Evanston, Illinois. It’s the best party ever!
Creative Coworking
Creative Coworking is a network of members-only workspaces, with locations in Chicago (Edgewater and West Town) and Evanston. The Evanston location is also an art gallery that features Chicagoland artists. I've shown work there since its inception, and I'm forever grateful for the exposure and support CC has provided.
Evanston Made
The mission of Evanston Made is to foster and promote the arts in Evanston, Illinois. I’m pleased to be a member of this organization.
Other People's Pixels
This is the service I used to make this website. It’s designed for artists, reasonably priced, and very easy to use and update. You can try it out for free just by signing up on their homepage.
Rich Sparks Illustration
Rich is a friend and former coworker who is a fount of creativity and humor. You can see some of his prodigious output at his website.
Studio Roy Robinson
Roy is a wonderful artist and good friend. His credo: “I want to make drawings of the banal, or the provocative, or the perplexing—but beautifully.”
Woman Made Gallery
Woman Made Gallery in Chicago supports, cultivates, and promotes the diverse contributions of women in the arts through exhibitions and other programs that serve, educate, and enrich the community. The people who work there have been tremendously helpful to me over the years, and I’m proud to be a member.
